Welcome to the RetroFusion Max Support Page! Here you’ll find basic troubleshooting steps, controller instructions, and setup tips to help you get the best experience from your RetroFusion Max console.
Basic Controller Instructions
- A - OK / Start Game
- B - Back
- X - Search Games
- Start - Open Console Settings
- Long Press A (on a game) - Open Game Options
- To add a game to favorites: Long Press A while highlighting a game and select "Add to Favorites"
- To exit a game: Press Select + Start together twice OR press both joysticks together and select "Quit Content"
Console Not Turning On
- Make sure the power cable is connected properly
- Make sure the HDMI cable is connected properly
- Confirm your TV is on the correct HDMI input/mode
- Check if there’s a blue light at the back of the console when powered on
- Try using a different power adapter (5V/2A) or HDMI cable
- If still not working, remove the SD card and power on the console — it should load Android. Then reinsert the SD card and restart
No Signal / Black Screen / Logo Stuck
- Turn off the console
- Unplug and reconnect all cables
- Remove the SD card
- Turn on the console (without SD card)
- If Android system appears, turn it off, reinsert the SD card, and restart
If issue continues, please contact support with photos showing the issue, cables, and backlight.
Controller Connection Issues
- Make sure the USB receiver is connected to the console
- Add new batteries to the controllers
- Turn on the controller using the toggle switch
- If it still doesn’t connect, try a different USB port
- If issue continues, please contact support
How to Save Your Game Progress
You have two ways to save your games on the RetroFusion Max:
1. Auto Save/Load (Recommended)
This feature automatically saves your game when you exit and loads it when you return.
To turn on Auto Save/Load:
- Press Start on the home screen
- Open Game Settings from the menu
- Scroll down and turn on Auto Save/Load
- Always exit a game by pressing Select + Start together twice before turning off the console.
(If you power off without exiting this way, your progress won’t be saved.)
2. Manual Save (Save State)
- While playing a game, press both joysticks together to open the menu
- Select Save State to manually save your current progress
- You can load this save later from the same menu using Load State

Password to unlock UI mode: BBBAB
Add New Games (For Advanced Users)
- Backup your SD card first
- Add game files to the corresponding folder on the SD card
Remap Controls
- Start a game
- Press both joysticks together to open the menu
- Go to Controls
- Customize button functions as you like
How to Play Commodore 64 (C64) or Other Keyboard Games
Using the Select button, you can display the C64 keyboard on the screen to select specific options. The joystick and standard keys like Space and Enter are mapped to the controller to play the actual game.
For a 100% authentic feel, you can easily connect a keyboard, mouse, and joystick to the USB port.
How to Start and Play Intellivision Games (Made Simple)

Showing the On-Screen Keyboard
When the game asks you to enter a number or press "Enter", hold down the L1 or R1 button on your controller. (You have to keep holding it for the keyboard to stay on the screen.)

Picking a Number or Letter
While holding L1 or R1:
- Use the arrow buttons (D-pad) to move around the keyboard.
- When you get to the number or letter you want, press A to choose it.

When the Game Says “Press Enter”
- Find the letter E on the on-screen keyboard. (That means “Enter.”)
- Move to it and press A while still holding L1 or R1.

If You Can’t Move in the Game
- If your character won’t move when the game starts, just press the Select button once. That should fix it.
How to Adjust Volume
You can easily control the sound while using the RetroFusion Max:
- Press Select + Up to increase the volume
- Press Select + Down to decrease the volume
Change Display Settings
- Press Start button
- Go to EmuELEC Settings
- Adjust Resolution and Aspect Ratio as needed
Reset Console to Factory Settings
- Press Start on the controller
- Go to EmuELEC Settings
- Select Danger Zone
- Choose Reset EmuELEC Scripts & Binaries to Default
- Confirm by selecting Yes
What to Do If I Can't Find Collection for Certain Console?
If certain games are not added in a specific console collection or if you can't find a whole console, you can simply search for the game name and you'll be able to find it.
Once you find the game, you can add it to favorites so you can easily access it whenever you want to play next.
